Is there a commonly used method of determining the size of a Module, Object, or Attribute (of Module or Object)? Something like the "sizeof" function, but taking as input a Module, Object, or Attribute Reference (attrRef) and returning a number of bytes? oaklodge - Wed Sep 18 04:56:54 EDT 2013 |
Re: sizeof Module, Object, Attribute? No. You'd need to define "size"; such as "How much disk space occupied by". You could go to the server file structure and determine the size of a module but it doesn't seem realistic to do so for object and defininately not for attributes; Modules have files but Object/Attr info is inside the files. -Louie |

It makes performance testing and the subsequent explanation of the results neigh impractical without poking around the server files, which I generally try to avoid. But... let's say I want to know the size of a module as bytes on disk. Can you point me to an explanation of how to find the module in the server files? It must be a process using the "uniqueID", yes? Many thanks Louie. |
